Ratti (Gloria) is born in South Boston.

March 13, 1931

The daughter of John and Anna (Baio) Graceffa, she grows up in South Boston and works for 40 years for the CIA, later joking that she thought the initials stood for “cleaning, ironing, and alterations.” She marries Charlie Ratti, and she retires and he takes up running, becomes a volunteer for the Boston Athletic Association, subsequently becoming a key official on the Boston Marathon and a champion of its growth and of women runners. She dies in Quincy on July 24, 2021, and is buried in Holyhood Cemetery.
